You certainly can't understand American corporate inability to decarbonize without understanding fiduciary responsibility being only to shareholders, with quarterly analyst's calls being a drum beat that is all about profits in that quarter.
And you can't understand venture capital unless you understand that an enormous number of people in the space are explicitly there to become billionaires when there aren't that many billion dollar ideas or people like Musk or Bezos to execute on the good ones.
And you can't understand the recurrent bubbles unless you spend some time watching Wall Street bros cycle through 'innovation' in vacuuming money out of rubes' wallets.
