Yes, it does. Rejected energy calculations that Jacobson et al do more rigorously look at rejected energy for electricity from renewables vs current fossil fuel rich pathways, and add for efficiency losses solely related to renewable electricity pathways. Thermodynamics is much less kind to fossil-fuel rich energy systems.
