Who says anything about wasting it?

Hydrogen will get manufactured with excess electricity, just as storage will get some, and other stochastic solutions will.

The problem isn't making hydrogen with excess electricity, it's pretending that the hydrogen will be cheap or remotely competitive with well understood alternatives in the energy space.

At least understand my position before trying to argue with it.
