There's one situation I'm aware of where it makes sense. A big solar farm was built for a mine in Australia as part of their energy portfolio. Mines have lifespans of 12 to 40 years and this mine reached end of life six years after the solar farm was built.

So the solar farm was disassembled to be put up near another mine.
