No. The problems with hydrogen as a light vehicle fuel, and in fact as fuel for any sort of vehicle, are very large and clear. As much as the fossil fuel industry would like to continue to make the other fossil fuel — hydrogen — and pretend that eventually it would be supplied with wind and sunlight, direct use of electricity with batteries or directly grid tied will dominate. This isn’t to say that there won’t be persistent niches, some rational and some not, but we’ve had a couple of decades of global experience with hydrogen as a vehicle fuel, and it’s just not that great.
