No one gets a free pass on emissions. It's too late for that. The argument was likely good three decades ago, but everyone except California, BC, Germany and a few other countries used it, excusing their emissions for various good — lifting 850 million people out of abject poverty — and bad — but our profits! — reasons.

Aviation is lagging ground transportation and energy generation badly. It's time for it to get its tail fin in gear.
