Much harder to defend. Crypto promised to move to proof of stake instead of proof of work, with massively lower power demands, but failed miserably to deliver on that. Crypto miners have made it clear that they don't give a flying fuck about power emissions on whatever grids they are on. They don't run in the big data centers regardless, but in specially built smaller mining centers.
