I’m very bullish on HVDC. China’s global HVDC grid proposal is unlikely, but regional grids are very likely. China is focusing on an Asian grid. Biden has a USA HVDC grid in plan, and had an America’s HVDC interconnect through Central America in his initial platform as candidate for the Democratic nomination, so it’s getting done. HVDC continent-scale grids is in my short list of solutions.
