I’ll dig through the source as well, but as a question, what percentage of those teachers were in Christian schools? In Canada this is top of mind as the large majority of residential schools involved in the cultural and literal genocide of First Nations children were Christian run schools, dominantly Catholic. In two former schools alone almost 1000 children’s bodies have been discovered in unmarked graves this year so far.

Update: I’ve reviewed the report and was unable to find the reference to 5–7% of public school teachers being abusers. That number does appear high to me, and as stated, I can’t find it in the cited document with multiple searches and scanning over a few minutes of effort. If you could point me to the appropriate section, I’d appreciate it.

However, the report is explicitly of public school teachers, so my primary question is moot.
