For shipping, adding turbines would increase drag and eliminate any infinitesimal benefits. Solar panels would provide so little energy compared to the massive requirement that their contribution would be homeopathic.

Overhead catenary lines for rail make perfect sense and that's what everyone in the world is doing, barring the notable exception of the USA and its unfortunate continental neighbors.
